Ten compelling yet modest reasons why you should definitely work with me.
I. Two good ears.
2. Ten nimble fingers.
3. The music itself: what can I say? ‘I am music, everything else is just what I do.’ Although I didn’t coin that (hence the quote marks) I read it somewhere and it spoke to me. More than that, it spoke for me. If the words were originally yours, my thanks.
4. BA Hons in Music Production for Film and Television.
5. Broad and wide ranging experience in both of the above. Recent highlight: composed, produced and mixed the soundtrack for two National Geographic documentaries: ‘Saxon Gold’ and ‘Treasure on the Thames’.
6. I know how to respond to a brief. It begins by listening (back to the ears). This may seem obvious, but how often do you see work that falls short of the harmonious (or tempestuous) marriage of sound and image? I modestly suggest I am good at this marriage.
7. I have all the wizardry of modern software up my sleeve. Logic Pro & Pro Tools, for example.
8. At home in the studio–and, indeed, the orchestra. A cellist. Three years with the Leeds College of Music Symphony Orchestra: the same at school before that.
9. Now, it’s not for me to play fast and loose with the ‘T’ word, but there are those–Frank Roddam (film director), Saul Richards (MD & Composer at 7Triple7 Studios), my mum (which may or may not count)–who say I am talented.
10. They also say I am good to work with––diligent, hard-working, conscientious, swift, driven, easy-going. A perfectionist without being a pain … oh yes, and modest.
Please take a look at some of my work. If you like what you see/hear (back to reason 6), please get in touch.
Thanks for stopping by. George.
